Property Description
This cozy holiday residence built in 2005 is situated in the vicinity of a major route at the foot of the Eagle Mountains (Orlické Hory), to the East from the Giant Mountains. The area has countless swimming and sport facilities, castles and sights to visit, museums, picturesque towns and villages, and of course plenty of wonderful nature to enjoy while walking or cycling. Local Information
The ground floor apartment is entered through the veranda. In the entrance hall there is a table and some couches. The cool hall has access to the rooms and the stairs leading to the first floor apartment (see the extra photos left). The fridge also stands in the hall. The ground floor apartment is furnished with traditional Czech pieces. There is a table with chairs and a couch in the living room as well as a satellite TV, a settee, a double sofa bed and an excellent oven for cooking and baking that can also function as a heater. You can try it but there is probably no need, since the whole house has central heating. A separate, smaller kitchen is directly connected to the room and is equipped with an electric cooker with four hot plates, a microwave, a coffee machine and an electric kettle. The bedroom has a double bed and a comfortable sofa bed. In the fancifully furnished bathroom there is a washbasin, a bath tub, a separate shower stall and a toilet. You can enter the first floor apartment either through the front door at the covered terrace or via the stairs through the ground floor apartment. The interior is modern (see extra photos left). The living room has a dining area, a double sofa bed, an excellent oven for cooking and baking that can also function as a heater and a modern kitchen area. The facilities are the same as downstairs. There is a separate bathroom provided only with a shower and a washbasin. The toilet is situated separately. In the bedroom there is a double bed, a sofa bed and a large wardrobe. All in all, it is a fine holiday residence where you can stay together but still enjoy your privacy.
Sport & Leisure
Activities:
• Horse Riding
• Skiing
• Fishing
The house is favourably situated in relation to surrounding towns: Ústí nad Orlicí - 8 km, Žamberk - 8 km, Letohrad - 8 km. The Eagle Mountains, forming the natural long border between Poland and the Czech Republic, is an attractive area for an active holiday-maker. You are drawn outside by green landscapes, streamlets and scents of the woods, sun and freshness. That’s where you can move – walk or cycle over the mountain ridges with watchtowers and breathtaking views; go horseback riding, white-water rafting and diving (among others, in Pastviny, a popular recreation area at the water reservoir in the Divoké Orlice), hiking along the instructional paths, visiting unique sites such as the reconstructed ruins of the Castle Potštejn and the castle in Douleby, or gathering mushrooms. The highest mountain in the Eagle Mountains, the Velká Deštná (1115 m), will offer you the view as far as the Giant Mountains. Another idea is to visit Zemská brána - "The Door to the Earth" – a nature reserve at the Czech-Polish border, a picturesque and deep valley of the Divoké Orlice with a stone river bed, stone bridges, small smuggler bridges, robbers’ grotto and a set of interesting forms of rock. Take your time walking through the beautiful historical towns like Dobruška (with the Jewish Museum), Doudleby with a richly decorated castle exposing a weapon collection or Letohrad, the match town proud of Napoleon’s sleigh in its museum. In this sleigh Napoleon went back from Russia to Dresden. A choice of outdoor and indoor swimming pools is waiting for you in this area as well.
