This apartment is situated in a small medieval fortress dating from 1400 in a tiny village of Castè. Castè lies to the North-West of La Spezia in the far South of the Ligurian Riviera. The fortress is divided into 6 apartments, all of them facing the inner yard. During summer the inner yard turns into a stage for cultural soirees, such as opera and drama performances. You may freely use the garden furniture standing there. The yard is perfectly suitable for holding fabulous barbecue parties. It also offers a wonderful view of the surroundings.

Local Information

This apartment lies in the first floor and can accommodate from two to four persons. It has the space of app. 30m². In the living room there is a double sofa bed. The kitchen is equipped with a gas cooker, a fridge with a freezer, an electric oven, an electric kettle and a coffee maker. The bedroom is furnished with a double bed. The bathroom has a shower, a toilet and a bidet. All apartments are partly decorated with wooden furniture and antiques. These pieces give the rooms a rustic air. The apartment has central heating, a DVD- and CD-player and a TV with a satellite receiver. The guests staying in this apartment can use the private garden furniture in the inner yard of the fortress.

Castè is a small medieval village at the border of the Cinque Terre. The National Park of the Cinque Terre was added to the UNESCO World Culture Heritage in 1997. Among this magnificent landscape lie 5 picturesque villages: Riomaggiore, Manarola, Corniglia, Vernazza and Monterosso. You can reach the Cinque Terre by car, by train, by boat or on foot. Directly at the house the fans of hiking will find a route (Sentiero 1) that leads to the Cinque Terre. The splendid little villages at the Riviera Levante are situated at a very short distance from the holiday apartments, examples including Lerici (21km), Tellaro (25km) and San Lorenzo (17km). In the neighbourhood there is a number of picturesque mountain villages, most of which have preserved their original character, such as Portovenere (20km) and Isola Parmaria (20km). The second largest port of Liguria, La Spezia, lies at app. 8 km from your apartment. Also Pisa and Florence can be reached within 1,5 hour of driving.
