Right at the seaside, at only 80 km from Utrecht lies the town of 's Gravenzande. During the summer months a recreation team with an entertaining program for guests is present. There's a festivity week in 's Gravenzande, Harbour days in Hoek van Holland (the so-called Hoekse Havendagen), and even a sailing vegetable&flowerparade. This area is excellent for beautiful cycling tours and long hikes. Bikes for rent in the park (€ 4 per day). A day trip to the miniature city of Madurodam in Den Haag or a trip with a touring boat in the port of Rotterdam are really worth while. Party-lovers shouldn't miss out on the summer carnaval in Rotterdam. And of course there's allways the beautiful beach.
