Salland has all possibilities within reach. For those who enjoy combining outdoor sports and nature there's the Salland IJssel river valley. Cycle or walk on the IJssel river dyke through the forelands. A visit to the Hanseatic towns Zwolle, Kampen or Deventer (or a little bit further away the beautiful towns of Zutphen and Doesburg) is certainly worth while. Practice all kinds of water sports in the Vecht river valley. Ideal for long cycle or walking tours is the Salland hill ridge, the highest 'mountain' of the eastern Netherlands. Salland is renowned for its castles and estates, of which many are accessible. One of the most famous, the Nijenhuis museum with its magnificent art collection, lies right outside Heino. Furthermore you can visit the famous gardens in Overijssel, like the one of Mien Ruys in Dedemsvaart. Think of all the nature reserves and the possibilities for playing golf, surely the Overijssel province has the ideal mix of culture, nature, possibilities for sport. Go on a shopping spree in the provincial capital Zwolle, the smaller towns of Ommen, Dalfsen or go punting in Overijssel's Venice, the canal town of Giethoorn. In the house you will find an extensive information folder with everything the immediate vicinity has to offer.
