This apartment is situated in a small medieval fortress dating from 1400. It is located in the tiny village of Castè, northwest of La Spezia in the far south of the Ligurian Riviera. The fortress is divided into 6 apartments, all of which face the inner courtyard. During summer the inner courtyard becomes a stage for cultural soirées, such as opera and drama performances. You may freely use the garden furniture there. The yard is perfectly suitable for holding fabulous barbecue parties. It also offers a wonderful view of the surroundings.

Local Information

This apartment is located on the first floor and can accommodate two to four persons. It has an area of approx. 30m². In the living room there is a double sofa bed. The kitchen is equipped with a gas cooker, a fridge with freezer, an electric oven, electric kettle and coffeemaker. The bedroom is furnished with two single beds. The bathroom has a shower, toilet and bidet. The apartment is provided with a small balcony complete with patio furniture. All apartments are partially adorned with wooden furniture and antiques. These pieces give the rooms a rustic air. The apartment has central heating, a DVD- and CD-player and a TV with satellite receiver.

Castè is a small medieval village on the border of the Cinque Terre. The National Park of the Cinque Terre was added to the UNESCO World Culture Heritage List in 1997. Included in this magnificent landscape are 5 picturesque villages: Riomaggiore, Manarola, Corniglia, Vernazza and Monterosso. You can reach the Cinque Terre by car, train, boat or on foot. A hiking route (Sentiero 1) leads directly from the house to the Cinque Terre. The splendid little villages of the Riviera Levante are situated a very short distance from the holiday apartments. Examples include Lerici (21km), Tellaro (25km) and San Lorenzo (17km). In the neighborhood there are a number of picturesque mountain villages, most of which have retained their original character. These include Portovenere (20km) and Isola Parmaria (20km). The second largest port of Liguria, La Spezia, lies at approx. 8 km from your apartment. Pisa and Florence can also be reached within 1.5 hours (by car).
