The Balaton is the biggest Lake in Central Europe, silky caressy water, sunshine, sailing-boats, sandy beaches and so on the Balaton means this for thousands of tourists. However the Balaton is more than this: a real experience for families, couples, singles. At the marvelous Balaton everybody can find the most beautiful places. At the south bank of the lake thanks to the shallow water we can walk in almost half km. In the Badacsony mountains we can find cool wine cellars. At the south bank the wines have different bouquet because of the sandy-loessy soil. Naturally you shouldn’t leave out the food of the Balaton beach! The most famous – of course, dish is the fish within it the pike perch. It is also worth tasting the dishes which made of games: from the forests and field deer, rabbit, stag, wild boar, pheasant . There are numerous of hiking possibilities in the forests that we can tour on foot or by bycicle. The „pearl” of the Balaton is the Tihany Peninsula on it’s smaller hill located the Tihany Church and Monastery which was built nine centuries ago. The whole area of the Tihany Peninsule is under protection: the particular sights, the Inside Lake (which is perfect for fishing also), the Golden House and the lavender fields. The sailing is very popular today and in the last years landing-piers have been built where it is possible to store own boats and rent boats. Fishing is possible almost everywhere. For hikers on foot or bycicle there are many touring routes and popular beauty spots. In the last year the new bycicle road has been finished around the whole lake so you can take longes excursions. Only 50km far from here we can find healing waters: the Hévíz Lake with 38ºC thermal water, the carbonated spring in Balatonfüred or in the west side of the Balaton, Zalakaros.
