The area is very inviting for long walks. Nearby are the cliffs of Súlov with the Sarkania cave and the natural rock formations of Kacky en Dubná. In the area are many castles: Súlov (10 km), Lietava (20 km), Strečno (30 km) and the old castle Strečno. In Rajec (4km) is a reservoir lake for fishing, the hot thermal pool Veronika and the municipal museum. In the thermal reserve Rajecké Teplice (14km) are thermal buildings and pools, minigolf and a tenniscourt. Rajecká Lesná (14km) is a famous pilgrim town with their 8m long wooden Christmas performance with moving statues. It is truly unique. For some excitement you can visit the indoor kart hall in Lietavská Lúcka (18 km). The jugendstil castle in Kunerad (20km) is always worth visiting. The city of Žilina (25km) is attractive for various reasons. On the shores of the river Váh is the castle Budatin, with its museum. You can visit the indoor winter stadion or the in- and outdoor pool. There are various museums Cicmany (25km) is famous for its traditional architecture, with many white drawings on a black surface. Teplicka nad Váhom (30 km) is famous because of the mummy Sofie Bosniakov. From the airport Dolný Hricov (35 km) near Žilina, you can go for a sight seeing tour or sky diving. In Velký Straník the environment is ideal for paragliding.
