In the vicinity of Libochovany you can experience the wonderful nature and / or culture- something for everyone. You can tour the area by car, on foot or by bicycle. The village is situated on a bicycle and mountain bike route. The nearest important town is Litomerice (9.5 km). It offers a wide choice of sports and cultural opportunities: golf, fitness, riding, skateboarding, sauna, tennis and squash, flying- in short, everything is possible here! You can find architectural monuments, art galleries, wine tastings and an underground cellar. For families with children, there are opportunities to swim: the swimming pool of Litomerice (basketball, beach volleyball, soccer and mini-golf), the lakes in Píštany (3 km) and Chme lar (20 km) and the outdoor and indoor swimming pool in Usti nad Labem. The closest zoo is in Van Ústí (15 km), but there are zoos in Děčín (45 km) and Prague (90 km). Of course a day trip to Prague - the most beautiful city in Europe - is a must! Other day trips: the impressive Terezin (Theresa City, 4 km) - a former WWII concentration camp with ghetto. Třebenice has the Czech Republic's oldest museum, which houses the garnet jewelry collection of a Czech doctor. Or go to Zubrnice (24 km) with its National Railway Museum. In the area around Děčín and Hrensko (along the Elbe Valley) you will find numerous impressive sandstone formations, which are very popular with mountaineers. The area is also known as the Czech Switzerland. In the border town of Hrensko there is a large market where you can find all sorts of things at a good price. For those of you who love castles and country houses - you will not be disappointed either!
