This country house offers silence and lots of opportunity for relaxation, yet in this part of the Czech Republic you will find numerous opportunities for sports. For example, there's cycling or hiking on marked paths, golf at an excellent golf course (15 km away), and rafting or sledding (even in summer). You can swim in the lake at a water sports center in Rozkoš or at one of the open-air swimming pools in nearby cities, or in the heated swimming pool in Trutnov. Nearby there are also indoor pools. Tourist places to visit include: the Adršpach National Park with its bizarre rock formations and the Broumovske walls. Trutnov (10 km) has a restored marketplace with the so-called plague-pillar and Krakonoš source (named after the mountain god), magnificent arcades and galleries. Vrchlabi, which is regarded as one of the oldest cities in the Czech Republic, has a castle in a beautiful park, a number of half-timbered houses dating from the 17th and 18th centuries, and a 17th century bridge spanning the Elbe. The Giant Mountains area: Harrachov with a glass museum and hiking trails leading to waterfalls in the MUMLAVA. Spindleruv Mlyn with chairlifts to the mountain peaks as well as the source of the Elbe. Pec pod Sněžkou at the foot of the highest mountain of the Czech Republic. Ideal for families: a zoo and safari park in Dvůr Kralove. Within a short distance there are several interesting castles. Kuks in Broumov is an imposing baroque monastery complex. Other tips for trips: Christmas crèche in Třebechovice, the aqua park in Hradec Kralove, or a visit to Poland with its Kudowa Zdroj cure center, Gor Stolowich National Park and Polish markets. A day trip to Prague, the pearl of Central Europe, is ideal from Trutnov.
