Excellent environment, consisting of mountains, meadows and forests. Mountain walking or real climbing can be done here. The surrounding houses lie out of sight, you have a lot of privacy. The area emanates tranquillity and peace. The Chateau is built on a mountain side at an altitude of ca 560 m. Sheltered spot, due to the forests but even more due to the surrounding mountains. The Ariège is known for this climate: little wind and enough rainfall to keep nature abundantly green all year round. Close to the swimming-pool stands a very old ruin of a farm from the 14th/15th century. From the higher Pyrenees mountain tops you have an excellent view of the Arize river valley and of the higher Pyrenees. Several restaurants at ca. 4 km distance, larger towns at 20 km distance. The sandy beach of Lac du Mondely is at ca 15 km. Many possibilities for trips: an afternoon of horse-back riding, rafting, looking for fossils, sailing subterranean rivers or a visit to tax-free Andorra. Those who dare, can go delta flying or practise paragliding.
