L'Estartit is located at the foot of the Mongri Mountains and is a popular small seaside resort on the Costa Brava. In the cozy, old center you will find many restaurants, bars and shops. For divers, the Medas Islands, with their beautiful underwater flora and fauna are highly recommended. It is also possible to go by boat around the islands. It will not be permitted to enter the area around the islands with the intent of harming the environment! Another attraction is the small town of Torroella de Montgri. this is a picturesque village where you can stroll through the narrow streets and enjoy a drink in one of the many small cafes! A visit to the castle of Torroella, located on Montgri Mountain, is also worthwhile. About 15 km away you will find other old, medieval villages like Pals and Peretallada. From L'Estartit the village of Figueres is easy to reach. A visit to this place is a must because of its Dalì Museum. La Bisbal is located about 20 km away and is highly recommended for ceramic lovers. This is the pottery capital and has many ceramic shops. Traditionally, pitchers were produced, but nowadays there are a lot of different decorative ceramics available. Even for sports lovers there are a lot of possibilities in the area. For example, there is a 26-hole golf course, and opportunities for horseback riding, cycling and hiking.
