This Gite is originally part of the centuries-old little village of La basse Maza which is situated at an altitude of 500m in the mountains of the “Parc naturel régional des Monts d’Ardèche” nature park. If you're looking for relaxation in a mountainous / forested environment, then this is the place for you! Here you can go on magnificent hikes through chestnut forests or travel by car along volcanic peaks. The village itself has been very tastefully restored, in an effort to maintain its original character. The houses protect your privacy with their private terraces and garden. The houses are surrounded by a large area which includes small gardens with sitting areas, a barbecue terrace, a children's playground with swings and slides, and a Jeu de Boules court. The area adjacent to the Gluyère River is accessible via a mountain pass (descent takes about 10 minutes). In St. Sauveur de Montagut, 8km away, you will find shops, terraces, restaurants, and doctors. Tourist and hiking information can be found in your accommodation or in the common room, which has a phone and a small library. The other Gites in this area are: BN48969, BN48971, and BN48972.

Local Information

On the ground floor you will find the living room, where you will immediately feel at home. In the sitting area furnished with a sofa and armchairs, there is a large fireplace which provides warmth in spring and autumn. In the living room there is also a dining area. The kitchen is adjacent to the living room and is equipped with all the necessary kitchen utensils. The accommodation has a separate, large bathroom with large shower, toilet and a sink with cabinet. From the kitchen you can access a terrace which has good garden furniture. The terrace is located to the south and offers a view of the surrounding mountain landscape. Bordering the living room there is a second terrace which offers pleasant shade in summer. On the 1st floor there is a large bedroom furnished with a double bed. On the 2nd floor there is a large attic room with three single beds.
