Property Description
Looking for a former noble residence in Belgium? Then this is the perfect accommodation! This magnificent manor is located in a quiet, natural environment and is ideal for recreation and hiking. Here you can hike and go for a strenuous bike ride. In the evening you can enjoy absolute silence. The manor is located in the small village of Porcheresse, which lies in the vicinity of the Lesse River, about 40 km south of Dinant. On the outskirts of the village, on a separate area of about 40,000 sq meters, you will find this manor. It was originally built in 1704 and then rebuilt in 1919. The manor has recently been totally renovated and equipped with all the modern conveniences. Yet all the necessary precautions were taken to preserve the atmosphere of the earlier restoration. The manor is decorated with antique furniture, paintings, carpets, chandeliers and other furnishings that are in perfect harmony with each other. The Baroness de Boulanger Bert Inch amps, owner of the manor, has done everything to preserve the atmosphere of the past while providing the comfort of the 21st century. Every room is tastefully and stylishly decorated and furnished. They are, as a tenant of course, the only inhabitants of the manor.

The area around the manor is very suitable for long walks and bicycle rides. There is no mass tourism in the area, yet it is one of the most beautiful areas in the Ardennes- no buildings or spectacular sights, only the discreet charm of a hilly landscape with forests and meadows! The forests are comprised mainly of deciduous trees. It is a particularly beautiful area for hiking, especially along the Lessetal. If you are looking for a little sightseeing, the village of Redu is worth a visit. Redu is known as 'the village of books', with collections of books (in Dutch) on various disciplines and styles. It is also a place with lots of inviting terraces. Nearby, for those fascinated by astronomy and space, there is the Euro Space Center- an interesting time for young and old. Various tourist areas are located more than half an hour away. These include Rochefort and its caves and Saint-Hubert with a basilica and medieval castle. The area around the manor provides, in any season, various sports and recreational opportunities- like mountain biking, mountain climbing and rappelling, rafting, cave exploration, horseback riding and archery. You will also find in the surroundings nice restaurants such as Le Baudoin in Gembes, Le trou de loup, Le Moulin de Le pere finet in Daverdisse and Le in Our Clairval. Traveling with children? Then the La Saliere Bievre restaurant (pizzeria-chips) is ideal.
