A holiday apartment in the countryside, in the foothills of the Pyrenees. This accommodation is located in Vall d’en Bas. Vall d'en Bas is a small village that belongs to the municipality of Garrotxa, in Girona (Gerona) province. Garrotxa is an area with a variety of landscapes, among them the foothills of the Pyrenean mountains and volcanic terrain. There are numerous possibilities to explore these magnificent natural surroundings either by bike or on foot. For those who prefer a little more adventure, there are plenty of quad and 4x4 routes. The apartment itself has a large garden with a swimming pool where you can enjoy lots of privacy and rest after a day of new impressions that you are bound to acquire here.

Local Information

The apartment is furnished for 12 persons and offers a lot of space. On the ground floor there is a large dining hall and a sitting room with a fireplace and TV-set. The kitchen is equipped with an electric cooker, an oven, a microwave, a fridge and a dishwasher. There is also a washing machine in the apartment. On the first floor there are 5 bedrooms each furnished with double beds. Two extra beds can be placed in the apartment if needed. Both on the ground floor and on the first floor there is a bathroom, with an extra toilet on the first floor. In addition, the apartment has a spacious terrace provided with garden furniture and a barbecue. In the garden there is a swimming pool with chaise lounges.

Girona is a district rich in nature and tourist sights. At a distance of approximately 40 km you will find the village of Banyoles where you can visit a prehistoric settlement. There are many other picturesque villages in the neighborhood of Vall d'en Bas, such as Hostalets and Joanetas. There are even villages with medieval relics, i.e. Besalu and Sta. Pau. The towns of Gerona and Figueras (or Figueres) are located at a distance of approx. 50 kilometers and are definitely worth a visit. In Figueras you will find the famous Dali museum. Gerona is known for its numerous Arabic bathhouses, Gothic cathedral and the Plaza de la Independencia where you can enjoy a drink at one of the many outdoor cafes. Furthermore, you can admire the timeless beauty of nature in the province of Girona. There are plenty of hiking and biking routes that lead along the most beautiful spots. One very special place is the volcanic environment of Garrotxa, with its “Croscat” volcano which reaches a height of 786 meters.
