Girona is a district rich in nature and tourist sights. At a distance of approximately 40 km you will find the village of Banyoles where you can visit a prehistoric settlement. There are many other picturesque villages in the neighbourhood of Vall d'en Bas, such as Hostalets and Joanetas. There are even villages with medieval relics, i.e. Besalu and Sta. Pau. The towns of Gerona and Figueras (or Figueres) are located at a distance of approx. 50 kilometers and are definitely worth a visit. In Figueras you will find the famous Dali museum. Gerona is known for its numerous Arabic bathhouses, a Gothic cathedral and the Plaza de la Independencia where you can enjoy a drink at one of the many outdoor cafes. Furthermore, you can admire the timeless beauty of nature in the province of Girona. There are plenty of hiking and biking routes that will lead you along the most beautiful places. One special place of interest is the volcanic environment of Garrotxa, with its “Croscat” volcano which reaches a height of 786 meters. A public swimming pool lies within only 5 minutes from the accommodation.
