The house is 2 km from the village of Camucia where you can do your daily grocery shopping. The house has a view of the green valley bounded by mountains which beckon hikers and cyclists. Nearby (3km) there is a train station from where you can make day trips to major cities like Rome or Florence. You can quickly access (by car) many beautiful villages and towns containing historical and cultural interests. Examples include CORTONA (4km) and PASSIGNANO (20km). Cortona is a picturesque medieval town of Etruscan origin. It stands on one of the oldest hills in Tuscany and its winding little streets make it one of Tuscany's most fascinating places. Here you will find numerous museums, antique shops, restaurants and cafés. During summer various evening events are organized such as drama performances, opera, popular and classical music concerts. The town became world famous when it was used as a backdrop for several scenes in the Oscar-nominated movie ‘La vita è bella’ by Roberto Benigni. The Umbrian town of Passignano has a medieval center, accessible only to pedestrians. The center has a wonderful panoramic view of Lake Trasimeno. Other towns, such as Arezzo, Orvieto, Spoleto and Siena, are by all means worth a visit. It takes no more than an hour (by car) to reach any of these places.
