Rome is the capital of Italy and at the same time is the capital of the region of Lazio. Rome, the "Eternal City" was originally built on seven hills and is separated by the Tiber River. There is an island (Isola Tiberina) in the center of Rome, situated between the city's Trastevere district and the old city centre. You can also get information on many events in Rome. From the park the train station is just 5 minutes walk away, and from here it is just ten minutes to the center of Rome (by train). There is also a shopping center with a large supermarket and bank located on the park grounds. At the holiday park a fantastic bicycle path, which runs along the left bank of the Tiber, begins. From here you can also travel by bike past the historic Ponte Milvio bridge and Olympic stadium, to the center of Rome and the gates of Vatican City . You can rent a bicycle at the information center.
