Local Information

This island is a must for those interested in ancient Greek history, and there is the well preserved excavated Minoan city of Akrotiri, which is a fascinating visit.

This property is located on the edge of Fira and within a five minute walk of the town centre.

There are beaches within a short drive, and as this is a volcanic island, the sand is often black. It is possible to scuba dive at various sites around the island, along with horse riding, sailing, and other watersports.

Directions

There are direct charter flights flying from the UK to Santorini. Alternatively one can fly to Athens and then take an internal flight to Santorini, which is a journey of only about forty minutes. Another route is to fly to Athens and then to go to the port of Rafina. From here there is a high speed ferry to Santorini which takes about four hours. Timetables need to be checked as times of ferry departures vary from season to season, and a useful web site for this information is www.gtpnet.gr.
