Villa Ilioupolis is situated in a wonderfully secluded spot on Kokkina Hill on the south coast of the island of Syros. With its striking colour scheme of terracotta and cobalt blue, the house is in harmony with the tones of the earth and the sky. The discerning choice of furnishings give the house a very special ambience.

Ermoupoli, the busy commercial port, is about 10 kms or a 20-minute drive away and is an interesting visit. This is a very attractive and sophisticated town and as Syros was once the Capital of the Cyclades, and at one time of Greece, it has some very impressive architecture as well as some good restaurants. There is a wide range of nightlife and some interesting shops and an excellent art gallery.

There is now a splendid, newly restored opera house in Ermoupoli and there are programmes running throughout the year.

Maidservice is included twice a week, and there is a gardener who comes to look after the pool. Linen, towels and pool towels are included.

A cook can be provided, and additional maidservice arranged for an additional charge.

Additional maidservice €10 per hour, payable locally. A full time cook can also be provided, typically for 4 hours per day at €15 per hour, payable locally.

The three spacious terraces offer a magnificent panorama of Finikas Bay. The 14 m. long pool will keep one both cool and fit. The beach, as well as the nearest restaurant, is only a 5 - 10 minute walk away.

Anfahrt

There is an airport on Syros, so it is possible to fly from Athens and then take an internal flight over to the island, which takes about 40 minutes. Alternatively fly to Athens, then take the highspeed hydrofoil to Syros, which takes about 2 hours. Timetables need to be checked as times of ferry departures vary from season to season, and a useful web site for this information is www.gtpnet.gr
