Property Description

Elounda is a five-minute drive away and boasts a long stretch of beach, which has been awarded a Blue Flag for its cleanliness. There are also many tavernas, restaurants, a couple of supermarkets, banks and car hire in the town. There are also quite a few other beaches within easy reach, each with its own particular charm.

Local Information

Elounda is a nice small resort with some of the best and most exclusive hotels on the island. It has many interesting boutiques, bars and restaurants and a pretty little harbour and is only about a 5 minute drive from the villas. The surrounding area is very beautiful and it is worth driving up the coast through the small villages until you get to Plakka. From here there is a boat trip over to the fascinating island of Spinalonga which was once a leper colony. The views down the bay towards Aghios Nikolaos are stunning. From Elounda there is bridge over to an islet, which is fun to explore, and there are also the remains of an ancient sunken city at the site where you can snorkel with beautiful crystal clear waters. Aghios Nikoloas is about a 20 minute drive away and is the largest resort in the east of the island. It is a great place to visit with a wealth of lovely shops and restaurants, as well as some lively nightlife. An exploration inland is recommended, especially a drive to the Lasithi plateau which is reached by a stunning mountain drive.

The villa will be cleaned twice a week and there are regular linen changes. We use 100% cotton sheets, wool blankets (if required), luxury feather pillows or non-allergenic pillows (if required). There is an adequate supply of bathroom towels, bath mats, hand towels and face cloths. There is also a supply of towels for external use i.e. beach or sundeck and luxury towelling bathrobes for use by residents. There are further services available at an additional cost, which include a Chef who will attend the property and cook up whatever you may desire!

A stunning view from the covered terrace where there is a comfortable sofa and chairs for you to sit and chat or just admire the breathtaking views of Mirambella Bay.

The amazing heated pool has a special kids pool area and the main pool is an infinity pool. Whilst there is a dedicated childrens area in the pool, because of the infinity edge, children MUST NOT be left unattended and MUST be accompanied by an adult when in or around the swimming pool.

There is a pretty garden with plenty of garden furniture and private parking.

Directions

You can fly directly to Heraklion on charter flights from the UK. This is the easiest and quickest option, but alternatively fly to Athens and then take an internal flight from there. Athens to Crete is about a 40 minutes flight. From the airport, it is about a 1.5 hour drive to Elounda. Either take a taxi, or, alternatively pick up a hire car. It is a very straightforward journey on the motorway.
