A popular family holiday villa with private pool, secluded and very private with a great deal of character and charm. This holiday property is situated adjacent to and just below the charming and picturesque monastery, known as Moni Agios Riginou.

Property Description

Set high up, there are wonderful views across the surrounding countryside to the town of Skopelos and the sea. The monastery was built for the Patron Saint of Skopelos but is not inhabited any longer. The area is quite beautiful and is surrounded by stunning verdant mountains. Aletri was once used by the monks of the Saint Reginos Monastery.

Secluded and very private, the house is very traditional and rather old-fashioned, but has a great deal of character and charm. The recent addition of a swimming pool makes this a popular family holiday home.

Local Information

This beautiful rural area is only about 10 minutes drive from the delightful main town of Skopelos, and with a backdrop of beautiful mountains, pines, cypresses and groves of olive trees, this is a lovely part of the island.

Only about 4 kms away is the small and picturesque town of Skopelos which has very attractive traditional buildings covering the hillside leading down to the lively harbour and waterfront.

There are steep narrow streets, tavernas, shops and small churches dotted amongst the typical Sporades style houses and a 13th century Venetian castle at the top of the town. This is a delightful place to wander through at any time and there are wonderful views at every turn. The nearest beach is at Limnonari, which is about 5 kms away and there are numerous other bays and beaches within easy reach, including Milia beach where the watersports available are paragliding, wind-surfing, banana riding and water-skiing.

Maid service and linen change 2 times a week. Extra maid service and linen change on request. Extra bed may be provided on request for some houses. Daily charge €10 Baby cot or high chair may be provided on request. Daily charge €5

Transfers
Clients will be met on arrival and given driving instructions to their villa as well as a welcome letter including telephone numbers to office/representatives. Each villa will also have a house book containing detailed information on the villa as well as closest shops, restaurants and beaches. For those who prefer an escorted transfer to their villa, this can be arranged only in advance for an extra charge of €40 per arrival. Please also note that a mandatory escorted transfer including a €40 fee, applies to all arrivals from 19:00 or later. These fees are for arrival transfers only.

We are also able to arrange a "meet & greet" service on arrival at Skiathos Airport which includes being met at the airport, taxi transfer to Skiathos port and outward tickets for the first available crossing to Skopelos or Alonissos. This service is charged 35 Euro/person and must be booked in advance.

Our agent's office is open Monday - Saturday for information, money exchange, excursions, car hire etc., and a representative of the agent will visit the villa once or twice a week.

There are plenty of possibilities for outdoor living. The house has a spacious shaded front terrace, long wooden balconies and a very pretty garden with a swimming pool of 3.5 x 7 metres.

The property is surrounded by old olive trees, cypresses and pine trees and the atmosphere is one of peace and tranquillity, making this house a perfect place for a relaxing holiday.

Directions

The island has a daily ferry connection with Evia to the port of Kymi. The island boat leaves Linaria at 0800 hrs every morning and returns from Kymi at 1700 hrs. These schedules may change so it is always wise to check before travelling to the island. The journey takes about 2 hours. To check ferry timetables we recommend this website: www.gtpnet.gr

Olympic Airways also operate a domestic flight from Athens and this takes about 25 minutes. During the summer months there are also hydrofoil connections with the neighbouring islands and the mainland.

For international travellers flying into Athens airport, there is a coach connection from Athens to the island, via Evia, and using the daily ferry from Kymi. Timetables need to be checked as times of ferry departures vary from season to season, and a useful web site for this information is www.gtpnet.gr
