Prague, also called "Golden Prague" or the "city with the thousands of towers, is so versatile that you can cope with everything impossible. The best way to Prague is on foot and public transport. A day ticket costs € ± 3 and 7-day ticket ± 10 €.-On a small list of attractions may in no case are missing: Hradcany (Prague Castle) with Presidential Palace, Vitus Cathedral, the golden streets, where Franz Kafka in No. 22 has worked the Strahov Monastery and the Petřín hill with a fantastic view over the city. In the quarter Mala Strana (Lesser Town)you can admire the baroque Nikolai Church and the Palace Waldstein and there are also many palaces, gardens, churches, small shops, antique stores and restaurants. A walk through the car-Charles Bridge over the Vltava River with painters, souvenir stalls and street musicians. A visit to the quarter Josefov (Jewish Quarter) with a synagogue, the Jewish Freidhof impressive monastery complex and the St. Agnes worthwhile in any case. In the Old Town (Stare Mesto) walk across the square, with the Jan Hus monument, and Nikolai Týn Church and the Old Town Hall with the astronomical clock. Then the Wenceslas Square, the starting and shopping center of Prague, with the memorial for Jan Palach, the statue of St. Wenceslas and the National Museum. A few ideas for day trips: the impregnable castle of Karlstejn in Beroun (35 km), the well-preserved castle Křivoklád from the 15th century (40 km), the reservoir in Moldavia (25 km), Konopistě Castle, once in Possession of Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria (40 km), the medieval castle of Cesky Sternberk (40 km), the caves at Koněprusy, the king and silver town of Kutna Hora (55 km) with silver mine and Barbora gothic cathedral, and Theresienstadt, a former concentration camp (55 km).
