The cottage is situated in a quiet park with holiday houses on the outer side of town, near to the shores of Lake Machov. This is the best known and most popular recreation area in central Bohemia. It is situated between the larger cities Eská Lipa and Mladé Boleslav. -- Shops can be found in the town Doksy, 500 meters away. -- The cottage is situated in a rear garden with a terrace next to it in the shade of a cherry tree. Here you can magnificently rest or you can use the place when you are in transit. But for an active sport holiday (water) are you right. -- The car can be parked on the area.

Even if the house is small, you have still a lot more options with a consultation with the owners. -- In the hall stands a table. The room is equipped with kitchen, equipped with two electric hotplates, a coffee machine and a large electric cooler. At the window is a dining area, a radio and in the corner 2 beds. The bathroom has a shower, toilet, washbasin and a hair dryer. For a small fee you may use the bathroom in the house of the owner, there's a bathtub and extra shower room. The house is electrically heated. In consultation with the owners you can use for free their dishwashers and the garage in the basement for storage of bicycles, etc.. In case of bad weather, you can sit by the fireplace and play on a table (the table is in the basement). For the use of washing machine, iron, ironing board is a small charge. A lavish breakfast can be ordered.

The Lake of Máchov - 600 meters away-was named after the romantic poet Karel Máchov, he wrote here the poem "May". 1366 created as the largest fish pond in Bohemia, this is now the largest water sports center in northern Bohemia. Here it is impossible to be bored: the boat and water ride, surfing, mini-golf, football, volleyball, beach ball, bungee jumping, Play equipment, trees to climb, play chess in a big chess board, slides and sledding. There are tour boats and boat traffic between the towns on the lake. Four beaches and lots of lawn are for sunbathing. - In the pine forests you can go for a wonderful hike. In the lake are the small islands and Muizen Eenden, a bird sanctuary. - From the market square in the town are 7 marked cycling routes from 18 to 52 km. Two of them are suitable for families and comfortable cycling, three are middle and two are really a challenge for experienced cyclists. - You can play bowling in the football stadium in the town. - In Vrchovanech you can rent horses (± 10 € p.u.). - You can go on trips in the surrounding area on foot or by bike: Bezděz Castle, the symbol of the country Máchov, with a fascinating View from the tower. - Stare splavy: Recreation Center at the sea of Máchov. - Braniborská-caves, hanging rocks in an area of rocky canyon and a marked trail south of Stare Splavy. - The Gothic-Renaissance palace Houska with precious frescoes. According to one legend the castle chapel stood at the gate to hell. - Castle Ralsko: Ruins of an ancient fortress with a magnificent view of Bezděz, the Czech highlands, the Lužic and Jizera Mountains, Ještěd, the dominant Czech Paradise in the land of Máchov.
