From this apartment you can start various walk, cycle and mountain bike trips. From Mechelen you can drive the famous ANWB Mergelland route. Many routes will take you passes castles in southern Limburg and Belgium. Because Germany and Belgium are so close by you can easily organise a daytrip to the Ardennes or the Eiffel. The cities of Maastricht and Aachen are only 20km away. The thermal centre Thermae 2000 is 15 km away. You can go for a swim in the subtropical swimming paradise Mosaqua in Gulpen or in the nearby town of Vaals (well-known for its three countries point). Less then 2km away is the golf course of Gulpen. You can go skiing all through the year in Landgraaf in Snowworld. There are also many nice and cosy bars and restaurants, that are well worth trying. In the apartment is a folder with information about the area. Bikes can also be delivered to your apartment. Each season has its own charm. In spring al the fruit trees blossom or you can witness the birth of the little lambs at the sheep-fold. The summer has various organised events. The sun will shine on your terrace from about 14.30 until sundown, where you can enjoy a glass of wine, while you see the sun set behind the hills. In early autumn you can pick various kinds of fruits, walnuts or chestnuts. Later on in autumn the woods will turn orange, yellow and red. In winter you can enjoy the possibilities of winter sports near your own country. You can go skiing or cross country skiing in the Ardennes of the Eiffel. In February we celebrate carnival, for young and old.
