Nijstad originates De Nijstad was already founded before 1700, and this original atmosphere is still to be felt today; you will find thatched roofs and wooden houses.

The apartment is suited for maximum 4 persons. The interior furnishings are simple but authentic, which matches the atmosphere very well. Kitchen and dining area are located on the ground floor. The kitchen is equipped with a gas stove (2 places), a microwave and a refrigerator. The living room is touching the kitchen. There is a table with chairs and a TV. You will find two bedrooms next to it. One of them is furnished with a double bed, the other one with two single beds. The bathroom is equipped with shower, washing basin and toilet. Moreover, you have a private furnished terrace. There are enough parking spots for your car and you can hire a gas barbecue if you wish.

Dwingeloo is a hospitable nice village with a very special and beautiful village green. This is the shady village centre where you can enjoy the sigh of several beautiful farms and old renovated houses. The “Siepel”, a unique tower of the Dutch protestant church is characteristic of Dwingeloo is de Siepel, it is visible from far already. You can also find “Planetron” in Dwingeloo, this is a very special space with a projection screen of 350 m2. It is absolutely worth a visit. The surroundings here are asking for exploration. There is a fantastic landscape very well taken care of with wonderful opportunities for walking, cycling and horse riding. Enjoy this varied nature of the “Dwingelderveld”, a National Park characterised by wood, heath land and fenlands. This is Europe ’ s largest wet heath land area where you can find plenty of unusual plant and animals. “Dwingelderveld” is freely accessible and there are also paths for disabled people. There is a rental for bikes, horses and even covered wagons where you can make nice trips. And you cannot but see Dwingeloo’ s world famous radio telescope on one of those trips.
