Property Description

A charming house built in traditional Sporades style and situated just above the tiny fishing hamlet of Steni Vala, which is located about 7 kms along the coastal road from the main harbour of Patatiri.
Set on a raised piece of land overlooking the sea and only about 5 minutes walk from the beach, the house overlooks the bay below and therefore has the most wonderful views across the sea to the island of Peristera a short distance off this part of Alonissos. Surrounded by terraced gardens with olive, lemon and almond trees.

Local Information

This is one of the prettiest areas of Alonissos and the house is only about 1 km from the picturesque harbour of Steni Vala with its delightful waterfront and a number of really good tavernas.

There are a couple of other villages in the area with little harbour tavernas serving freshly caught fish and some very good beaches nearby. In Steni Vala there is also a grocers where basic supplies can be bought. This is a very popular harbour for yachts and motor cruisers.

Across the water from Steni Vala is the island of Peristera and an area that has been designated a Marine Reserve as it is one of the few places remaining that the Mediterranean Seal nests and breeds.

Caiques depart from Steni Vala for the beautiful beach at Agios Dimitrios, and in high season there is a bus connection to Patitiri. A hired boat can be moored here to give easy access to the rest of the island´s beaches. Only about 7 kms away is Patitiri, the main town and harbour of Alonissos with its supermarkets, bakers, butchers, post office, tavernas and bars and a couple of hotels.

Alonissos is a very unspoilt island, still remaining largely untouched by package tourism. It is a wonderful island for walkers and anybody who is looking for peace, quiet and a real Greek island.

The sea is particularly wonderful around this island and a favourite with yachts people.

TRANSFERS
Clients will be met on arrival and given driving instructions to their villa as well as a welcome letter including telephone numbers to office/representatives. Each villa will also have a house book containing detailed information on the villa as well as closest shops, restaurants and beaches. For those who prefer an escorted transfer to their villa, this can be arranged only in advance for an extra charge of €35.00 per arrival. Please also note that a mandatory escorted transfer including a €35.00 fee, applies to all arrivals from 19:00 or later. These fees are for arrival transfers only.

We are also able to arrange a "meet & greet" service on arrival at Skiathos Airport which includes being met at the airport by our representative, taxi transfer to Skiathos port and O/W tickets for the first available crossing to Skopelos or Alonissos. This service is charged 38 Euro/person and must be booked in advance.

Our agent's office is open Monday - Saturday for information, money exchange, excursions, car hire etc., and a representative of the agent will visit the villa once or twice a week.

A patio area at the side of the house has a stone built barbeque and a small path descends through the trees at the front of the house to a small beach next to the Steni Vala port, a walk of approximately 4 minutes and it is also possible to get to the nearby Glyfa beach by foot.

There are tavernas and a small supermarket at Steni Vala, from where caiques depart for the beautiful beach at Aghios Dimitrios, and in high season there is a bus connection to Patitiri.

A hired boat can be moored here to give easy access to the rest of the island´s beaches.
