General Accommodation Information

Xaloc has a total of 18 rooms. The 9 Superior Rooms, some with Garden Views and some with Ocean Views are closer to the beach and these are reserved for adults only, and have access to a pool set aside for these rooms only. The Standard Rooms are set around a second, lagoon-style pool and these are perfect for families and groups. The rooms are all identical, apart from orientation: every one is a round "palapa" with the traditional 7m. high-palm tree roof.
Every room is built in the interior of a palapa, the most common way of building in this area, using hard woods and palm tree roofs. At Xaloc, this ecological construction is very well combined with the colorful Mexican style and comfort. In your room, you will sleep under a mosquito net, and you will experience the traditional hammocks on the exterior porches. You can choose a room with king-size bed or a room with two twin beds. Every room has a private ensuite bathroom. Accommodation is based on bed & breakfast but half Board is also available:

The breakfast includes: coffee or tea, juices, fruits, bread with butter and marmalade, hot-cakes, yogurt, cereals, eggs. Half board includes breakfast and dinner: Dinner consists of a 4 course menu: cream or soup, starter, main dish (meat or fish to choose) and dessert. We always try to emphasize the local food.

At the restaurant Majá che, the chef has developed a menu derived from exquisite traditional Mexican and Yucatecan dishes. Holbox is a fishermen village, so seafood is a speciality. This is open from 07.30 hrs until 22.00 hrs every day.

It is a pleasure to watch the arrival of the fishermen with their boats full of fresh fish, ready to come direct from their boats to the restaurant.
