People always say that the province Overijssel is the Netherlands but then smaller. The north-west is an area rich of water and turf. Near the park are many sealed cycling routes and the perfect way to view the beautiful Vecht- and Reestdal. Next to the park is the "Dedem" cycling route and the "Reestdal" route is only 4km away. These beautiful routes give you a good view of the area. The easy going atmosphere that this countryside breathes is the characteristic of this region. You can also visit one of the many theme parks in this area like: Ponypark Slagharen 4km, adventure park Hellendoorn 20km, Noorder Dierenpark Emmen 20km or Walibi World 50km. There are also many gardens and museums in this area like Mien Ruys' Gardens 4km, Ada Hofman's pond gardens 10km, tin man museum 10km, Ecodrome 30km or the museum of Anton Pieck in Hattem 45km. If you like to visit some nice castles and estates, you can visit Kasteel Rechteren and Kasteel Eerde.
