The rooms are serviced daily, bath towels and limited toiletries are provided, clients are advised to bring their own toiletries and beach towels.

Breakfast is included in the price and is served daily and guests can choose from a menu which includes continental (yogurts, fruits, cereals, toast etc) or a cooked breakfast (bacon, sausage, eggs, tomato, mushrooms).

Dinner is available on request; this is usually a braai (barbeque) or roast. Dinner costs are R150 per person, 24 hours notice is required.

It is appropriate to leave a tip for the game ranger; clients can choose to do this after the activity or at the end of their stay. R20 per person for a game drive is appropriate.

Boat Cruises Cruises in Plettenberg Bay to experience the wealth of marine life found here (dolphins, whales, seals etc.) usually take place during the morning and afternoon. The cruises, which depart from Central Beach, are one and a half hour to two and a half hour trips and the cost range from R275 to R300 per person which includes soft drinks.

Monkeyland is a primate sanctuary. It is home to many varied species of monkey from several continents which were captive bred prior to their release at Monkeyland. Situated 16 km east of Plett, it offers visitors safaris conducted by game rangers. This is the world’s only multi species, free roaming primate sanctuary. Great for families.

Birds of Eden is the largest free flight aviary in the world. Over 100 species and 2,000 birds occupy the 23,000 sqm dome, this is a great activity for bird lovers and families with children. Monkeyland and Birds of Eden are located on adjacent properties and are centrally managed.

Outeniqua Choo-tjoe This unique steam train departs daily from George to Knysna in the morning and back to George in the afternoon. There is beautiful scenery along the way.

The Knysna Elephant Park (20-30 min drive) is a truly unique experience. The tour offers guests a guided tour from the visitors centre to the elephants, where there are no barriers to spoil your close encounter with these gentle giants. Also on offer are walking safaris with these elephants in the Knysna forests.

Boating and other Watersports The Bay is an excellent venue for Hobie Cat sailing, Surfing, Wave Ski and Bathing. Launching of power boats is permitted on Central Beach (contact the Ski Boat Club ph.533 2941) and sailing boats may launch off Hobie Beach. The Keurbooms River is an ideal water-skiing and canoeing venue. The river is zoned regarding watersports. Contact Nature Conservation (ph.533 2125) for more details. A sunset cruise on the river or out to sea is a must.

Fishing and Angling Good rock angling sites include Nature's Valley, Keurbooms, Lookout Rocks, Beacon Island and Robberg Beach. No fishing is permitted in the Tsitsikamma National Park which extends 5,5kms out to sea except for a short strip to the west of the Storms River Mouth. Rock anglers can expect to catch Galjoen, Elf, Roman or Steenbras. Deep Sea anglers may expect Tuna, Leervis, Hake and Calamari (seasonal).
