We are passionate about travel (who isn't ?) and we use the internet exclusively to book our holidays, but are more often than not dismayed by how difficult it is to find what we are looking for.
Over the years, we have developed several holiday-rental and hotel-related websites and gained vast experience of what users and advertisers want from a website. Having worked on those websites with the advertiser as the client, we often had to prioritise their requirements at the expense of the user. Whilst this made our clients happy, it left us feeling we could have done this better. Although Better Holidays Ltd. has only been incorporated recently in London (UK), the people involved in our operations all have internet experience of 10 or more years.
Many people seem to forget that an all-singing-all-dancing website with lots of gimmicks may be interesting to a first time user, but gets quite boring and even irritating after a while, when you cannot find the information you want. Quickly. More often than not any siteuser and potential guest will not revisit the site and will find another one which caters better to his requirements.
With this in mind, we decided to put our ideas into action and incorporate everything we believe a good website for holiday rentals should have - usability on wide variety of operating systems and browser platforms being one of them - whilst keeping it affordable and flexible for the advertiser and easy to navigate for the user.
We believe we have found a way to make site visitors and advertisers happy at the same time, as one cannot be satisfied without the other one being happy too. After all, what good is an advertisement that looks excellent but costs you almost as much as any booking you may receive from it, and - as a potential guest - would you really like to book a holiday home if you don't know what to expect (if you find it in the first place)?
better-holidays.com is the culmination of years of work and consideration. We believe that our site provides the advertiser - as well as the user - with a vastly improved offering over and above that of other websites, many of which have at best not changed in years or at worst are confusing or even misleading. Of course we realise that the internet keeps evolving and we will continue developing and improving the site to ensure that it remains as effective and up-to-date as possible.
